Proventis Partners Munich and Düsseldorf to become atares

Munich, November 10, 2023 – Since November 9, 2023 it is official: The former tech practice of Proventis Partners becomes atares GmbH. The team around the two Proventis founders Jan Pörschmann and Rainer Wieser in Munich and Düsseldorf has always been an independent legal entity. It is now changing its name and will operate independently from Proventis.

As atares, the team of more than 20 people will focus on technology-driven deals in the midcap sector in Germany and promote digitalization in M&A. A first step in this direction is the self-developed dealfloor, a platform on which transactions can be processed completely digitally – for more efficiency, more convenience and more added value, especially for clients.

“Technology has always been part of our DNA, even in the early days of our entrepreneurship,” says Jan Pörschmann, Managing Director and co-founder of Proventis and atares. “We and our team have been focused on tech deals for a number of years now. Our mission is to be a forward-looking advisor to tech champions “made in Germany” and help them achieve long-term success through M&A. With the new brand atares, based on the guiding star Antares from the constellation Scorpio, we are now clearly communicating this specialization to the outside world.

The atares team is characterized by specific tech deal know-how, an excellent network of relevant M&A decision makers worldwide and a passion for realizing visions. The claim “merging visions” now makes this visible to the outside world. By 2030, atares aims to be the leading tech M&A advisor in Germany, one of the preferred contacts for top graduates and to triple its team to 60 employees.

“At 30%, tech deals already account for the largest share of transactions in Germany, and this share is growing enormously,” Pörschmann continues. “Increasingly, these are asset-light service companies that use creative technology to create entirely new business models with the potential to scale. Our team has long focused on these deals and companies. We bring the right partners and visions together and support the tech champions of tomorrow. Preferably in Germany or from Germany to strengthen the location.”
